This diverse and personal series explores the beauty of imperfection and the concept of impermanence. At its core, the series is based on a meditative method of cutting elements from handmade paper and layering them onto raw linen canvas. The first layer often captures the vivid emotions of the day, with color fading and softening over time, while smooth washes and layers of color often lend the work an ethereal quality. Added layers of pigment, ink, and paint create a hazy and blurred effect, drawing the viewer even deeper into the image.
